The JIR is an open platform dedicated to rigorous, peer-reviewed science beyond institutional boundaries. It welcomes researchers, clinicians, and thinkers who pursue knowledge with intellectual freedom and methodological integrity. Our mission is to amplify independent voices and promote transparent, evidence-based inquiry across disciplines.
- It is a Diamond Open Access journal, under a Creative Commons Licence, which means there are no APCs (Article Processing Charges) for the authors, nor fees for the readers.
- Every article published in the journal is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
- The JIR is a quaterly digital publication. Issues are tipically issued in April, August and December.
- ISIR members can submit a project for a research to be published on the JIR. The editorial board will evaluate all proposals for further steps, from acceptation to publication.
Once you become a member of ISIR you will have access to the project submission form.

To this end, ISIR offers workshops, mentoring, and peer feedback opportunities designed to help researchers refine their projects and increase their chances of publication in reputable journals. If you have a fantastic idea that could be applied to a research project, submit it to the editorial board of our Journal of Independent Research.
No, ISIR does not directly cover publication fees on other journals than the Journal of Independent Research.
